Top 5 Sailing Blog Experiences

There's lots of posts about the best blogs etc, this one is around my 5 best personal experiences of the sailing blogs I track currently...

It must be said that I am currently tracking around 43 sailing related blogs, how many do you track? Anyway, here' goes my current top 5 blogs and why, in no order but definately my top 5 at the moment...

Number 1 - Zensekai II - By Sea
I love what I get from this, good decent sized posts, no crap, almost short-stories of the day and, seeing as I'm trying to revert back to my old chilled-out self a bit, the Zen side really appeals...

Number 2 - fuffblog
I think it's cus she's from the UK, leads what sems to be a similar lifestyle to me, not enough sailing, work hassles etc, love the mix of stuff and the insight to a similarly chaotic world...

Number 3 - Proper Course
Well he had to be there somewhere, so this is an interesting one, I do enjoy the mix of posts he does, the occasional wanderings into the insane and the learning points are great... I do feel some tension between us though.. kinda fel we have been in "blogging competition" since we both bubbled to the surface of the blogging world.. not in a bad way, and to be fair over the last 60-12 months he's been "beating" me with the quality of his blog, but I think a little friendly competition never hurt anyone did it, especially sailors!

Number 4 - HorsesMouth
This is a classic that seems to get better with age, the pics and video-cults are a great weekly diversion for me, thankyou!

Number 5 - CampbellSailing.com
Lastly but not leastly, I've only just gotten into this, but I really enjoy reading through the Monday Morning Tactician posts, great stuff, really makes you think and he writes the stuff really well..

But where are all the UK sailing bloggers, I mean I have a few in Google Reader, but no Olympic hopeful's, no UK based World champions etc... am I missing something, do they not blog?

I'm gonna make a conserted effort to find the elusive UK-stars, but if you see them, let me know please...

Thanks for the plug Ant. I was also wondering why there aren't more UK-based sailing bloggers.

Know what you mean about the tension. Think I sometimes write things that rub you up the wrong way.

But I don't see it as a competition. The great thing about bloggers is that we're all different and write about different things in different ways so it's more like a party than a race.

It is a competition and I want to know why I didn't win!

I even get mentioned on global airport parking sites! Beat that!

Thanks Ant! Hopefully we can sort the sailing issues when the season starts. Counting down the days..

I hate to 'advertise' but I've got a UK sailing blog, which I hope helps bring the numbers up:

Sorry for the plug. :0)
