Too Drunk To...

...Sail ?

Ok a lot of you guys have been there, maybe not too drunk to sail but definitely too hung-over to sail any good.. here's a cautionary tale as we approach this years social/sailing finale..Southport 24hr Race...

So last year I had a great time, sailed twice once with James and then once late on (the finish I think) 'cus they couldn't wake me up top sail the early shift.... I was really pissed off with going too far with the booze... commodores reception in the afternoon killed me and once in deep I never really returned to the living.... I missed sailing in the night or as the September sun rose over Southport, missed helping at the change-overs or the early morning food runs...I missed out...

This year I will drink (of course), I will party, I will help out and I will be merry but god-damn you all I will stay sane and I will freakin enjoy the whole event....

"...Don't feed the Soulsailor too much alcohol..."

Sailing is a sport.. but it has the added value of fantastic social elements... keep the balance... be chilled, bathe in the alcohol, chill to the tunes, get psyched with the sailing but don't let that last 2 pints and a whisky chaser screw up the good times... I'll be there with my camera to take photo's of any casualties...be careful, look after me and I'll look after you..ok...
