Staunton Harold... no bridesmaids this time!

So... blazing sun and a bit of breeze...

10 Ents joined the Miracles (ggrr) for what ended up being a half decent open this year...

Race 1
Not a bad start, some good tactics, some close racing, we went on to win.. Cossey chased us hard up the last leg, I went for the wrong finish mark (dont tell anyone!) but managed to stay ahead and took a nice bullet...

Next race back-2-back! Drank a lot of water (no alchohol...yet)

Race 2
Again a good race was had by all, lots of position changing we had "gear slippage" when we were in the elad which meant we lost a whole chunck of the elad repairingm Cossey got passed us we chased him hard, caught up to being 1/2 boat length away from grabbing a bullet.. but 1/2 boat-length or 50 don't matter, we had a 2nd... still fairly happy except we can't go home yet!

Lunch, LARGE cheese bagetts, more water and chilling in the sun with the groovers.. Smithy & family, youngy, Jules and "chas and dave"..no.. I mean Steve and Ches....

waited around for the club race to finish before we could start the final nail biting race...

..got bored... woke up the bar and had a celebratory Gin & Tonic session all round... more chilling more waiting and the off we go...race 3...

Race 3
Top bloody start, com-ttitee boat end, held position well, hit the line at speed (well as much as you can have in a F2), top race damned hard in the sun, a few neve racking mopments, but victory was ours..eventually... oh yeh baby...Soulsailors 1st win of 2005...about bloody time!

Celebratory pint 'o Orange with a G&T chaser, some chilling with our groovers and posse, prizegiving, crap speech (from me) then home...

Job done, no bridesmaid dresses for me and James... nope we got the ring of victory and wore the garters of success.. i'm rambling now...sorry...

We dedicate this victory to all the fathers present and in the future.. Happy Father Day...!
