Enterprise Masters 2005

So, in preperation for me taking part in EIGHT years time, thoughts seeing as they were down the road @ Draycote I'd go and join in the fun... well get drunk wih the old geezers anyway...

Bit of a mixed bag of wind for the Saturday lightish and rather shiftier than DWSC usually provides, but a good fleet with some top names were there to do battle...

Practice race, well who cares what happened there! Race 1 Cossey won it, well done... race 2, actually tyo be fair I havent got a clue about the sailing.... Birdy was doing all right as usuall and if I remember rightly was overnight leader....

So, me, James, Richy and the lovely family decided to give Draycote a miss for the meal and did the usual jaunt to the Dun Cow in Dunchurch... some nice food a mixture of steaks, thai green chilly etc between us (bloody chillies burnt on their way back to the surface this morning!) and a nice pint, then off to the club for some mingling, chatting, drinking and the rest of the suual Apres-Ent activities...

The yachters were just eatin as we got there.. so we started drinking, a false start from Nick Jackson, nearly bought us a round, but wifey had the cash... but Honnor had knicked it... Still Nck cam good by the end of the night and thats what counts...

So lots of drinking, speeches?! (well done paul) giving out of "silly things", drinking, chatting - everything was cool, gained some more members to Soulsailor Racing Association!! Notably Shaun and Roy have joined us.. welcome to our first "International Soulsailors"... So nothing really more exciting happened, bar stayed open to a proper wee hour (thanks Roger), although mr.bar-m,an did start getting arsey towards the end of the night, so I chucked out the stragglers (Soulsailor door-man!) these "masters" don't half get rowdy when they're allowed out and start drinking! Craigs bar appeared as if by magic so i'm sure here were more cool happenings well into the early morn....

We (James, Ant, Rich, Youngy and Ali) went home in the Youngy-Taxi, eat pizza, fell asleep and played FIFA Street - top PS2 game...

So next day arrived, plenty to play for, stronger breeze, some black flag incidents/cock-ups? and well the results ended up like this:

1st Nick Jackson
2nd Nigel Bird
3rd Shaun Craig (Irish SoulSailor)
4th Ges (ex-Soulsailor??)
5th Roy van Mann (Irish SoulSailor)

So bloody good results for Soulsailor, well done to everyone, as always a great event, great racing and a set of contented happy Ent yachters at the end of the weekend... night night... (picks to follow in the week)
