Following the cancellation of this year’s World Championships in Qatar which was scheduled for November, the Enterprise Class is gearing up for next year’s Worlds in Ireland which already promises to be a big one.
The event was last held in Ireland in 1998 when Bray SC hosted the 103 boat fleet – the largest ever for an Ent Worlds held outside of the UK. This time however the event will be sailed under the burgee of The Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven which boasts the title of the oldest yacht club in the world.
The event was last held there back in 1987 when Neil Marsden & Keith Crebbin pipped Ian Barker & Simon Cook for the title by ¼ point with Ian Southworth & David Hayes in third. [Extracted from Speed Sails Web Site]
